| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Arnet D. Sorters of Marengo, who passed | 4 | | away on December 1, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Arnet Sorters was born in Attica, Indiana on July | 6 | | 17, 1929 to Leo and Genevieve (nee Kirts) Sorters; he served in | 7 | | the United States Air Force in Japan during the Korean War; he | 8 | | married Barbara Hopkins in Riverside, Indiana on February 9, | 9 | | 1949; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Arnet Sorters's work with airplanes during his | 11 | | time in the service created a lifelong passion for flying; | 12 | | after returning from the Korean War, he became a pilot for | 13 | | United Airlines, where he worked for 36 years; after his | 14 | | retirement, he and his wife lived in Byron and then Marengo; | 15 | | and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Arnet Sorters enjoyed fishing, hunting, and | 17 | | golfing; he was knowledgeable on many subjects and Consumer | 18 | | Reports magazine was his Bible, but most of all, he loved his | 19 | | grandkids; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Arnet Sorters was preceded in death by his wife, | 21 | | Barbara; his parents; and his son, Mark Sorters; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Arnet Sorters is survived by his children, Vicki | 2 | | (Bruce) Volkening and Kurt (Debbie) Sorters; his | 3 | | grandchildren, Dawn, Matthew, Heather, Aryn, James, Ashley, | 4 | | Carissa, and Daniel; his great-grandchildren, Sebastian, | 5 | | Bailey, Payton, Haleigh, Brent, Brady, Gabriel, Jianna, Kenny, | 6 | | Alyssa, Samantha, and Michala; and his brother, Jack (Chris) | 7 | | Sorters; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Arnet D. Sorters, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Arnet Sorters as an expression of | 15 | | our deepest sympathy.
