| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dorothy Marie Pitzen of Johnsburg, who | 4 | | passed away on February 18, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Pitzen was born in Spring Grove on March | 6 | | 23, 1922 to John and Emma Lay; in 1942, she married Joseph | 7 | | Himpelmann in San Francisco, California; after World War II, | 8 | | they settled in Johnsburg; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Pitzen worked many years for the Barr-Don | 10 | | Corporation in Mount Prospect until she retired; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Pitzen was involved in many organizations | 12 | | and ministries at St. John the Baptist Church, including the | 13 | | Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, the Welcoming Committee, and | 14 | | Prayer Groups; she was also a member of the Catholic Order of | 15 | | Foresters, serving as an insurance agent; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Following the passing of her first husband, | 17 | | Dorothy Pitzen married Paul Pitzen at St. John's in 1986; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Pitzen is survived by her sister, Marie | 6 | | Weingart; her brother, Edmund Lay; her children, Richard | 7 | | (Diane), Joel (Carolyn), Mary (Jack) Weightman, Dave (Sue), | 8 | | Betty, Barb (Tom) Kasting, Steve (Sue), and Ron (Karla); Paul's | 9 | | children from his first marriage to Virginia, Joyce (Rex) Coon, | 10 | | Paul, Jr. (Kim), and Loren (Cindy); other survivors include her | 11 | | 19 grandchildren, Danielle (Dave) Klein, Denise (Bryan) | 12 | | Straube, Debbi and fiance, Steve Dolloff, Melissa (Jake) | 13 | | Pereria, Matt (Lorene) Himpelmann, Jodi (Darren) Tate, Michael | 14 | | (Elena) Weightman, Steve (Jen) Weightman, Julie (Mike) Dahlin, | 15 | | Joe (Stacey) Himpelmann, Ann Marie (Alex) Chapman, Andrea (Joe) | 16 | | Hawkinson, Gretchen and Ben Kasting, Lauren Himpelmann and | 17 | | fiance, Matt Starr, Emma and Maddie Himpelmann, Shari (Mark) | 18 | | Norman, and Kevin Himpelmann; her 25 great-grandchildren; her | 19 | | great-great-grandchild on the Himpelmann side of the family; | 20 | | the Pitzen grandchildren, Beth (Josh) Pranger, Brian | 21 | | (Jennifer) Coon, and Christine and Samantha Pitzen; her 8 | 22 | | great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, | 23 | | be it
