| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The Irresistible Emus team from Emerson | 3 |
| Elementary and the ICicles from Immaculate Conception in | 4 |
| Elmhurst will be attending the Global Finals for the | 5 |
| Destination Imagination tournament; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Irresistible Emus team is comprised of Bridget | 7 |
| Bergheger, Heather Callans, Miranda Deane, Caroline | 8 |
| Dierksheide, Madeline Marsan, Keely Resing, and Rebeka | 9 |
| Wermeling, all of whom are either 9 or 10 years old; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Irresistible Emus won first place at the | 11 |
| Illinois State Destination Imagination tournament held in | 12 |
| Bloomington on April 9, 2005; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Team Manager Lisa Marsan has coached The | 14 |
| Irresistible Emus team for two years and has coached students | 15 |
| from Churchville Middle and York High School for the past five | 16 |
| years; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Lisa's teams have placed first or second at the | 18 |
| regional level and have progressed to the Illinois State Finals | 19 |
| every year; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, The ICicles are a team of 5th and 6th grade girls | 21 |
| whose members are Nicole Foster, Anastasia Gliatis, Eva Hughes, | 22 |
| Abby Mazzocco, Maggie Patchett, Shannon Healy, and Holly | 23 |
| Hughes; and
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, The ICicles came in first in the Sudden | 25 |
| Serendipity challenge in the middle school category; and
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, The ICicles are managed by MaryNic Foster and | 27 |
| Renee Oshinski; and

| WHEREAS, Destination Imagination, Inc. is one of the | 2 |
| world's largest creativity and problem-solving programs for | 3 |
| youth of all ages; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Thousands of students participate annually from | 5 |
| 47 states from the United States, 15 countries, and Canadian | 6 |
| provinces; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Destination Imagination helps children build | 8 |
| important, lifelong skills, such as problem-solving, teamwork, | 9 |
| and divergent thinking; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Teams use improvisation and creativity to prepare | 11 |
| solutions to challenges presented to them; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, These two teams will now represent Illinois and | 13 |
| compete at the Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee; | 14 |
| therefore, be it
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 16 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 17 |
| we congratulate the Irresistible Emus and ICicles teams on | 18 |
| their success and wish them the best of luck at the Global | 19 |
| Finals; and be it further
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 21 |
| presented to Bridget Bergheger, Heather Callans, Miranda | 22 |
| Deane, Caroline Dierksheide, Madeline Marsan, Keely Resing, | 23 |
| Rebeka Wermeling, Lisa Marsan, Nicole Foster, Anastasia | 24 |
| Gliatis, Eva Hughes, Abby Mazzocco, Maggie Patchett, Shannon | 25 |
| Healy, Holly Hughes, MaryNic Foster, and Renee Oshinski.
