| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Corey Lawrence McClaurin of Chicago, who | 4 |
| passed away on September 19, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on December 7, 1991 in Chicago, to | 6 |
| Darla Bracey-McClaurin and Walter R. McClaurin Jr.; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age; | 8 |
| and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He graduated from Amelia Earhart in 2006 and was | 10 |
| currently in his senior year attending Simeon Career Academy; | 11 |
| and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Corey loved sports and wanted to continue his | 13 |
| education in business; he wanted to become a music producer and | 14 |
| own his own production company; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Corey McClaurin is survived by his parents; his | 16 |
| sister, Courtney McClaurin; his grandmother, Bessie Brown; his | 17 |
| grandfather, Armstead Bracey; his great-aunts, Marie Shannon | 18 |
| and Alena Nathan; his aunt, Daphne McClaurin; his great-uncles, | 19 |
| George McClaurin and Clarence Bracey; his uncles, Robert | 20 |
| McClaurin, James Ward, and James Harris; his cousins, Malik |

| his family and friends, the passing of Corey McClaurin; and be | 10 |
| it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 |
| presented to the family of Corey McClaurin as a symbol of our | 13 |
| sincere sympathy.
