| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jeanne Marie Petkus of Waukegan, who | 4 | | passed away on July 5, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus was born on February 1, 1956, in | 6 | | Waukegan to Anthony J. and Irene B. (nee Perkowski) Petkus; she | 7 | | received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from | 8 | | Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal in 1977; she | 9 | | obtained her Master's degree in Education from National College | 10 | | of Education in Evanston, now National Louis University; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus began her career as a teacher at St. | 12 | | Anastasia Catholic School in Waukegan from 1977 to 1986; for | 13 | | the past 27 years, she served as the principal of St. Joseph | 14 | | School in Round Lake; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus enjoyed tending to her flowers and | 16 | | spending time with her family; she was a dedicated caretaker | 17 | | for her parents; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Jeanne Petkus is survived by her brothers, Anthony | 19 | | "Dick" (Gail) Petkus and Jim (Mary) Petkus; her nieces, Debbi | 20 | | (Scott) Clawson, Chrissy (Paul) Novotny, and Jennifer Petkus; | 21 | | her nephew, Michael (Amy) Petkus; her great-niece, Kaitlyn; her |
