| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Willie Mae Walker; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker was born March 7, 1921 in Little | 5 | | Rock, Arkansas; her parents were Willie and Beatrice Morgan; | 6 | | she married Lee Roy Walker on May 9, 1953; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker received her formal education in | 8 | | the East Saint Louis Public School system and graduated from | 9 | | Lincoln High School; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After she got married, Willie Mae Walker relocated | 11 | | with her husband to New York City, where she enjoyed visiting | 12 | | her family and friends; she later returned to East St. Louis, | 13 | | where she found much pleasure in taking care of and nurturing | 14 | | children; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker accepted Christ as her personal | 16 | | Savior and her faith was strong; she was a devoted member of | 17 | | New Bethlehem Baptist Church and served on the Mother's Board; | 18 | | she faithfully attended Sunday School, imparted wisdom, and | 19 | | took pleasure in Bible readings; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker was preceded in death by her |

| 1 | | parents and her siblings, Bishop Eddie Morgan, James Morgan, | 2 | | Gene Morgan, Dr. Otis Morgan, Leroy Morgan, and Beatrice | 3 | | Morgan; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker is survived by her brothers, | 5 | | Nathaniel Morgan, Leslie Morgan, and Samuel (Gwendolyn) | 6 | | Morgan; his sister, Clarice (Rudolph) Lewis; her godchildren, | 7 | | Cheryl Sanders and John (Agnes) Sanders (children, John and | 8 | | Jynea); and her many nephews, nieces, other relatives, and | 9 | | friends; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 12 | | her family and friends, the passing of Willie Mae Walker; and | 13 | | be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Willie Mae Walker as an expression | 16 | | of our sympathy.
