| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Samuel Parker of Beach Park, who passed | 4 | | away on August 2, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker was born on February 17, 1924 in | 6 | | Burdette, Arkansas; his parents were Lonnie and Aree (Branch) | 7 | | Parker; he married Gussie Lee Bonner in 1942 in Catron, | 8 | | Missouri; in 1944, the couple moved to Illinois, where they | 9 | | lived in Zion, Waukegan, North Chicago, and Beach Park; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker was employed with American Motors in | 11 | | Kenosha, Wisconsin for 41 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker devoted his entire life to the | 13 | | service of his Lord, his family, his friends, and his | 14 | | community; in the 1960s, he joined Christian Valley Missionary | 15 | | Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and an associate | 16 | | minister; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker was preceded in death by his son, | 18 | | Charles Parker; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Parker is survived by his wife, Gussie Lee | 20 | | (Bonner) Parker; his sons, Samuel, Philip, Dennis, Lonnie, |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 7 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Samuel Parker; and be | 8 | | it further
