| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John W. Lynn of Mundelein, who passed | 4 | | away on August 27, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Lynn was born on October 12, 1929 in Chicago; | 6 | | and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, John Lynn was the founder and Director of the Kirk | 8 | | Players; he was a founding and the oldest member of the Kirk of | 9 | | the Lakes Presbyterian Church in Mundelein; he was also the | 10 | | founder and Director of the Mundelein Beauty Pageants and the | 11 | | Illinois Talent Competition; he was a member of the Mundelein | 12 | | Community Days Commission and the Illinois Fair Association | 13 | | Commission; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John Lynn received the Robert E. Gard Superior | 15 | | Volunteer Award for faithful, long-term service to community | 16 | | theatre from the Illinois Theatre Association; in 2006, he | 17 | | received the Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award from the | 18 | | Illinois Humanities Council and the Illinois Theatre | 19 | | Association; in 2013, he was given The Village of Mundelein's | 20 | | Outstanding Citizen Award by Mayor Kessler; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, In 2001, Mayor Sindles proclaimed April 13 "John |

| 1 | | and Helen Day" in Mundelein in honor of their 50th wedding | 2 | | anniversary; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, John Lynn was preceded in death by his wife, | 4 | | Helen, and by his brother, Herman; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, John Lynn is survived by his children, Jon (Paddy) | 6 | | Lynn, Jeffrey (Sara) Lynn, Paula Marsh, and Jay Lynn; his | 7 | | brother, Jim (Dorothy) Lynn; his 13 grandchildren; and his 8 | 8 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | John W. Lynn, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 12 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of John Lynn as an expression of our | 15 | | deepest sympathy.
