| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Clarence B. Brewton of Zion, who passed | 4 |
| away on October 24, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Clarence B. Brewton was born on May 24, 1953 to | 6 |
| the late Ernest and Leler Brewton in Waukegan; he accepted | 7 |
| Christ into his life at an early age; he attended North Chicago | 8 |
| public schools; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a dedicated employee at Helia Healthcare in | 10 |
| Zion for nearly 15 years, as a maintenance manager; he was an | 11 |
| avid outdoorsman and was known to fish from sun up to sun down; | 12 |
| he also enjoyed cooking and family gatherings; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest | 14 |
| and Leler Brewton; his brothers, Furman and Moses Brewton; and | 15 |
| his sisters, Irene Priscilla Brewton and Mary L. Thomas; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Clarence Brewton leaves to cherish his memory, his | 17 |
| significant other of 14 years, Rosetta Sykes; his daughter, | 18 |
| Sharlett (Robert) James; his son, Jermaine (Rhonda) Brewton; | 19 |
| his four grandchildren, Jerahn Brewton, Taiana Davis, Janiah | 20 |
| Brewton, and Jayla Brewton; his five sisters, Thelma (Timothy) | 21 |
| Boyd, Clara Brewton, Rose A. (Gerald F.) Smith, Theresa |

| Brewton, and Patricia Brewton; his six brothers, Ernest R. | 2 |
| (Joanne) Brewton, Billie (Sherrie) Brewton, Aaron (Tywnia) | 3 |
| Brewton, John Brewton, and Jessie Brewton; and a host of aunts, | 4 |
| uncles, cousins, and other relatives and dear friends including | 5 |
| a special friend, James Cook; he was also a father figure to | 6 |
| Shalonda, Dante, and Jerry Lucas; therefore, be it
| 7 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 8 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Clarence Brewton; and be | 10 |
| it further
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 |
| presented to the family of Clarence Brewton as a symbol of our | 13 |
| sincere sympathy.
