| SENATE RESOLUTION
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Rebecca "Chudy" Niemietz of Libertyville, | 4 |
| who passed away on October 25, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born in the family home in North Chicago | 6 |
| on September 5, 1939; she attended Holy Family School and | 7 |
| graduated from North Chicago High School; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She belonged to the First Catholic Slovak Ladies | 9 |
| Association; she later joined the Gurnee Community Church; she | 10 |
| married Ronald Niemietz on May 5, 1959 and they raised four | 11 |
| children; she worked as an assembler for Trim Inc., | 12 |
| Libertyville, for 10 years and at the Blue Smock as a volunteer | 13 |
| until they closed; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Rebecca and her husband Ron traveled around the | 15 |
| country; they enjoyed spending time at their cabin in | 16 |
| Wisconsin, where they entertained family and friends; they | 17 |
| cooked out in the summer and went snowmobiling in the winter; | 18 |
| they belonged to the International Ford Retractable Club and | 19 |
| went to car shows in their 1958 Ford Retractable; and | 20 |
| WHEREAS, Rebecca loved to sew and do crafts, but her | 21 |
| greatest passion was for gardening; she loved flowers; |

| Thursdays were special days for Rebecca when she would meet her | 2 |
| sister at a local mall for lunch and shopping; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; two | 4 |
| brothers; and one sister; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, | 6 |
| Melissa, Amanda, Genoa, Ethan, Elstan, Jeremiah, and Joshua; | 7 |
| and by her great-grandson, Peyton; her husband, Ronald; her | 8 |
| daughters, Juliann (Richard) Cole and Christine (Clarence) | 9 |
| Axelson; her sons, Ronald (Laura) Niemietz and Andrew Niemietz; | 10 |
| and her sister, Elizabeth Aiken; therefore, be it
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 12 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 13 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Rebecca Niemietz; and be | 14 |
| it further
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 |
| presented to the family of Rebecca Niemietz as a symbol of our | 17 |
| sincere sympathy.
