Amends the Lactation Accommodation in
Airports Act. Changes the short title of the Act to the Lactation Accommodation Act. Adds provisions requiring that the organizer of an outdoor public event that is attended by 1,000 or more attendees per day must have a designated enclosed area for members of the public to express breast milk in private that includes, at a minimum, a chair and an electrical outlet and is located outside of the confines of a public restroom.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 | | Section 5. The Lactation Accommodation in
Airports Act is | 5 | | amended by changing Sections 1 and 5 and by adding Section 10 | 6 | | as follows: | 7 | | (410 ILCS 140/1)
| 8 | | Sec. 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Lactation | 9 | | Accommodation in
Airports Act.

Private place for nursing mothers ; airports . | 13 | | (a) On or before January 1, 2017, the airport manager of an | 14 | | airport operated by a city, county, city and county, or | 15 | | airport district that conducts commercial operations and that | 16 | | has more than 1,000,000 enplanements a year shall provide a | 17 | | room or other location at each airport terminal behind the | 18 | | airport security screening area for members of the public to | 19 | | express breast milk in private that: | 20 | | (1) includes, at a minimum, a chair and an electrical | 21 | | outlet; and | 22 | | (2) is located outside of the confines of a public |

| 1 | | restroom. | 2 | | (b) An airport that conducts commercial operations with | 3 | | fewer than 1,000,000 enplanements a year shall comply with | 4 | | subsections (a) and (c) of this Section upon new terminal | 5 | | construction or the replacement, expansion, or renovation of | 6 | | an existing terminal. | 7 | | (c) Upon construction of a new terminal or the | 8 | | replacement, expansion, or renovation of an existing terminal, | 9 | | an airport shall provide a sink in any room or other location | 10 | | designated to comply with this Section. | 11 | | (d) As used in this Section, "renovation of an existing | 12 | | terminal" means the repurposing of more than 25% of the space | 13 | | in the terminal.
