| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Edwin "Connell" Watson of Milan, who | 4 | | passed away on September 16, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Connell Watson was born to Frazier E. and | 6 | | Florence A. McConnell Watson in Viola on February 26, 1934; he | 7 | | married Jo Ann Kleinau at the First Presbyterian Church in | 8 | | Milan on March 16, 1958;
he served in the U.S. Army; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Connell Watson worked for 20 years for John Deere | 10 | | Plow and Planter before he started Watson Building and | 11 | | Remodeling; he ran his contracting business for nearly 50 | 12 | | years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Connell Watson was a member of the First | 14 | | Presbyterian Church in Milan; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Connell Watson enjoyed taking fishing trips to | 16 | | Minnesota and loved to spend time with his family; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Connell Watson was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his infant twin grandchildren, Thomas and Mary | 19 | | Katherine Huff; and his siblings, Lillian Watson, Harold | 20 | | Watson, Florence Lude, and Roberta Patterson; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Connell Watson is survived by his wife; his | 2 | | children, Laurie J.
(Bruce) Knowlton, Craig E. (Lisa) Watson, | 3 | | Alice A. (David Huff) Watson, and Paul F. (Lisa) Watson; his | 4 | | grandchildren, Claire Knowlton, Andrew Knowlton, Daniel | 5 | | Knowlton, Emma Watson, Anna Watson, Nathaniel Huff, Marguerite | 6 | | Huff, and Grant Watson; his siblings, Frazier "Bud" (Lois) | 7 | | Watson, Ramona (Richard) McMeekan, and Karen Burton; and his | 8 | | sister-in-law, Bonnie Watson; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Edwin "Connell" Watson and extend our sincere condolences to | 12 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
