| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of | 4 | | Chris-Tia Donaldson, who passed away on November 13, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Chris-Tia Donaldson was born in 1979; she | 6 | | received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard | 7 | | University; she earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law | 8 | | School; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Chris-Tia Donaldson was the founder and chief | 10 | | executive officer of Thank God It's Natural (tgin), a | 11 | | manufacturer of natural hair and skin care products, which she | 12 | | established in September 2006; she oversaw all aspects of | 13 | | operations, including product development, social media, sales | 14 | | and marketing, human resources, legal, and accounting; she | 15 | | also negotiated distribution agreements and managed purchase | 16 | | orders, promotional campaigns, and store growth strategy; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Prior to starting her own company, Chris-Tia | 18 | | Donaldson served as senior corporate counsel at Oracle for 10 | 19 | | years, where she negotiated complex business transactions | 20 | | involving technology and open source code and advised C-suite | 21 | | executives on the business and legal ramifications of matters | 22 | | of law, regulation, policy, and strategy; she also provided |

| 1 | | legal support to Global Business Operations, including product | 2 | | development, regulatory, marketing, procurement, corporate | 3 | | finance, auditing, bankruptcy, and employment divisions; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Chris-Tia Donaldson was deeply committed to | 5 | | raising breast cancer awareness and the benefits of early | 6 | | detection among women of color; she founded the not for profit | 7 | | tgin Foundation to support uninsured women undergoing | 8 | | treatment for breast cancer, highlight the impact of health | 9 | | disparities on survivor outcomes, and stress the importance of | 10 | | early detection for women under the age of 40; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Chris-Tia Donaldson will be greatly missed; her | 12 | | legacy will live on; therefore, be it
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 14 | | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 15 | | we mourn the passing of Chris-Tia Donaldson and extend our | 16 | | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | 17 | | and loved her; and be it further
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 19 | | presented to the family of Chris-Tia Donaldson as an | 20 | | expression of our deepest sympathy.
