| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Valery Decatoire of | 4 |
| Springfield on Thursday, January 5, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on April 7, 1917, in Springfield to | 6 |
| Leon and Marie Salane Decatoire; he married Rose DiPasquale on | 7 |
| October 17, 1936; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a miner in the Panther Creek Mines, a guard | 9 |
| at the Illiopolis Ordinance Plant, and was a carpenter with | 10 |
| Carpenters Local 16, retiring in 1962; he was the proprietor of | 11 |
| Rosalie's Greenhouse; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was a past member of Holy Name Society and a | 13 |
| member of St. Aloysius Church; he enjoyed gardening, especially | 14 |
| planting vegetables and flowers; he loved Christmas and was | 15 |
| fond of very large Christmas trees; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and two | 17 |
| sisters, Yvonne Meidel and Margaret Bambrough; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Valery Decatoire has been deeply | 19 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Rose; his daughters, Carole | 20 |
| (husband, James R.) Enlow, Rosalie (husband, James W.) | 21 |
| McDermott, Jean (husband, William A.) Spainhour, Nancy | 22 |
| (husband, Merlyn) Hepperly, and Susan Decatoire; his son, | 23 |
| Valery (wife, Bobbie) G. Decatoire; his 17 grandchildren; his | 24 |
| 27 great-grandchildren; and his many nieces, nephews, and | 25 |
| cousins; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 27 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 28 |
| Valery Decatoire, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 29 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
