| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert F. Brummel of Yorkville, who | 4 | | passed away on January 1, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born May 9, 1931 in Aurora, the son of Leo | 6 | | J. and Gertrude (Modaff) Brummel; he received the State Farmers | 7 | | Degree Award in high school; he farmed in Rochester, Wisconsin | 8 | | after serving in the United States Army from December 8, 1953 | 9 | | to 1955, stationed in Germany; he married Patricia Kammes on | 10 | | November 29, 1958; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In 1962, they moved to a farm south of Yorkville; | 12 | | in 1949, with the help of his brothers, they built seed | 13 | | cleaners for Brummel Seed Cleaning and built a strong business, | 14 | | of which he was owner and operator for 56 years; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of | 16 | | Plano, where he was an usher and a member of the Holy Name | 17 | | Society, for which he supplied sweet corn for its annual Steak | 18 | | Fry; he was a member of the Yorkville Moose and Plano's | 19 | | American Legion; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, He served as the director of the Yorkville | 21 | | Farmer's Elevator, the Kentland Elevator, and Grainco F/S; as a |

| 1 | | member of the Kendall County Farm Bureau, he was President for | 2 | | 7 years and served on the Board of Directors for 8 years; he | 3 | | was instrumental in starting the Farm Bureau Scholarship | 4 | | Program; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and | 6 | | Gertrude; his sister, Barbara and her husband, Richard Koretke; | 7 | | and his brother, Henry and his wife, Margaret; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Brummel is survived by his wife, Patricia; | 9 | | their children, James, Joanne (Roger) Kyrouac, Janelle (Tom) | 10 | | Weber, Gerald, Kenneth (Kay), Carole (John) Steagall, Connie | 11 | | (Gregg) Schoenrade, and Colleen (Robert Jr) Browning; their | 12 | | grandchildren, Randall and Hannah Brummel, Robert and Matthew | 13 | | Kyrouac, Paul (Sonya) and Michael Weber, Aidan Brummel, | 14 | | Richard, Laura, Susan, Rachel, and Thomas Brummel, Kendrick and | 15 | | Katherine Steagall, James, Joseph, and Jennifer Schoenrade, | 16 | | and Robert III and Teage Browning; his brothers, Leo (Delores), | 17 | | Nick (Loretta), Ed (MaryAnn), and Richard (Alice); and his | 18 | | sister, Mary ( Robert) Kammes; therefore, be it
