| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Kenneth James Lampley of | 4 |
| Benton on January 17, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lampley was born to Alvis and Fay (Walker) | 6 |
| Lampley in Benton on March 30, 1930; he married Carmen (Hayse) | 7 |
| Lampley on May 5, 1950; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lampley was a lifelong Franklin County | 9 |
| resident and in January 2005, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ | 10 |
| as his savior; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lampley was a member of the Benton Volunteer | 12 |
| Fire Department for 37 years, a member of the Benton City | 13 |
| Council for six years, and a 54-year member of the Laborer's | 14 |
| International Union, Local 529; he held the office of secretary | 15 |
| and treasurer for Local 529 for many years; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lampley was a man of many talents and worked | 17 |
| as a welder, bricklayer, construction worker, and laborer | 18 |
| during his lifetime; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lampley enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid | 20 |
| fisherman and camper for many years; he was also a stock car | 21 |
| driver and fan in his younger days; and
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Everyone who knew him knew he was an opinionated | 23 |
| man who enjoyed writing letters to the editor of The Benton | 24 |
| Evening News and loved politics; he believed in what he thought | 25 |
| was right and was a strong advocate for preserving Twin Oaks; | 26 |
| and
| 27 |
| WHEREAS, Kenneth Lampley's greatest joy was his family; he | 28 |
| loved watching and playing with his grandchildren and spending |

| time with his family; and
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Kenneth James Lampley is felt by | 3 |
| all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Carmen | 4 |
| Lampley; his children, Debbie Williams and husband, Carl, | 5 |
| Kerrie Stewart and husband, Jack, Rick Lampley, Joanie Sims and | 6 |
| husband, Stacy, Greg Lampley and wife, Michelle, Brian A. | 7 |
| Lampley and wife, Cindy, Lilli Loucks, and Russell Lampley; his | 8 |
| grandchildren, Jim Eldridge and wife, Sonya, Amanda Varner and | 9 |
| husband, Jason, Ashley Cross and husband, Ryan, Ansley Sims, | 10 |
| Hayli Lampley, Austin and Aszure Louks, and Elijah Lampley; his | 11 |
| great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Vandekerkhove and Brittany | 12 |
| Eldridge; his sisters, Kay Donovan, Shirley Clayton, and Sue | 13 |
| Ronchetto and husband, Joe; his brother, Richard Lampley and | 14 |
| wife, Clodena; his many nieces and nephews; and his aunt, Betty | 15 |
| Lakemeyer; and | 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvis and | 17 |
| Fay (Walker) Lampley; his brother, Carroll Lampley; his twin | 18 |
| daughters, Bonnie and Connie Lampley; and his very special | 19 |
| grandson, Aren James Loucks; therefore, be it
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 22 |
| Kenneth James Lampley and extend our sincerest condolences to | 23 |
| his family, friends, and community; and be it further
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 25 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest | 26 |
| sympathy.
