| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Maria Dolores (Rengers) Rodriguez of | 4 | | Long Grove; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Maria Rodriguez was born in 1959; she grew up in | 6 | | Glenview; she graduated from Marillac High School and the | 7 | | University of Illinois at Chicago; she was a resident of Long | 8 | | Grove for 33 years; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Maria Rodriguez was the past village president, a | 10 | | trustee, and the clerk of Long Grove; she was a candidate for | 11 | | U.S. Congress in 2010 and ran for lieutenant governor as a | 12 | | Republican in 2014; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Maria Rodriguez served as liturgical coordinator | 14 | | for St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove and was active in the | 15 | | Chicago Diocese; she also shepherded a herd of livestock in | 16 | | Long Grove for 23 years; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Maria Rodriguez was known for her positive | 18 | | spirit, and she was proud to be a published author and an | 19 | | esteemed public speaker; she will be deeply missed by her | 20 | | family, her dog Truman, and a multitude of friends; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Maria Rodriguez was the wife of Raymond "Ray" | 2 | | Rodriguez for 41 years; the mother of Leah (Ryan) McKeithan, | 3 | | Raymond Rodriguez Jr., and Sophia (Christopher) Dahle; the | 4 | | grandmother of Dean and Dylan; the daughter of Dolores | 5 | | (Geisler) and the late Leo Rengers; the sister of David (Debi) | 6 | | Rengers, Anthony "AJ" (Brenda) Rengers, Alexander (Maria) | 7 | | Rengers, Barbara (Thomas) Labotka, and John Rengers; and the | 8 | | aunt, cousin, and friend of many; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Maria Dolores (Rengers) Rodriguez and extend our sincere | 12 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 13 | | her; and be it further
