| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Tom Burns Sr. of DeMotte, | 4 |
| Indiana and Creal Springs on January 22, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Burns was born June 8, 1939, in West | 6 |
| Frankfort, to Irma L. (Boyd) and Charles L. Burns; he was a | 7 |
| 1957 graduate of Frankfort Community High School; on December | 8 |
| 10, 1981, he married Toni Butkus-Urbano; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Burns was owner and founder of Town and | 10 |
| Country Paving since 1982; previously, he was a coal miner; he | 11 |
| was a member of DeMotte Christian Church and Lake of Egypt | 12 |
| Christian Church in Marion; he was an avid hunter and | 13 |
| fisherman, and also co-owner of Burns Goose Club; he loved and | 14 |
| cared for his dog, Zerox; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Tom Burns has been deeply felt by | 16 |
| many, especially his loving wife, Toni (Butkus-Urbano) Burns; | 17 |
| his sons, Hugh T. Burns Jr. and wife, Janet, and Charles "Bob" | 18 |
| Burns; his daughters, Anita Austin and Elizabeth "Beth" Morgan; | 19 |
| his step-children, Michael Urbano, Renee Hineline and husband, | 20 |
| Denis, Carmen Urbano, John Urbano, Rodney Urbano and wife, | 21 |
| Cyndi, and Dan Urbano and wife, Judy; his 21 grandchildren; his | 22 |
| 4 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Mildred Harkins and | 23 |
| husband, Jerry; he was preceded in death by his parents; | 24 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 26 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 27 |
| Tom Burns Sr., and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 28 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 29 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
