| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Woodridge | 4 | | Park District Commissioner and Board President Fred C. Hohnke | 5 | | Jr.; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Fred Hohnke was a dedicated and passionate | 7 | | advocate for parks and recreation whose personal mission was to | 8 | | provide the very best of the best for the Woodridge community; | 9 | | he was elected to the Woodridge Park
District Board of | 10 | | Commissioners in April 1989
and was reelected in 1995, 2001, | 11 | | 2007,
2013, and 2019; he served as the board's vice president
| 12 | | from 1993 to 1996 and as president from 1996 until his recent | 13 | | retirement; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Fred Hohnke received the 1998 NRPA's Citizen Board
| 15 | | Member Branch National Service Award, the IAPD's 1999 Allan A.
| 16 | | Weissburg Commissioner of the Year Award, and the 2004 Mike
| 17 | | Cassidy Commissioner Community Service Award; most recently on | 18 | | December 3, 2019, he received the Building on Our Dream Award | 19 | | from Woodridge Mayor Gina Cunningham-Picek, the village's | 20 | | highest honor; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Fred Hohnke's contributions to the State of | 22 | | Illinois, the Woodridge Park District, and his community will |

| 1 | | live on for generations to come; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Fred Hohnke was the beloved husband of the late | 3 | | Carol J. Hohnke (Dakter); the loving father of Kathryn (Al | 4 | | Granum), Fred C. III (Daisy), and James (Meredith Dehmer) | 5 | | Hohnke; the cherished grandfather of Grace Dehmer, Frederick | 6 | | IV, and Lucas Hohnke; the dear brother of Roy Sears; and the | 7 | | brother-in-law of Ron and Joyce Ruckert and Ron and Kathleen | 8 | | Dakter; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 10 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 11 | | we mourn the passing of Fred C. Hohnke Jr. and extend our | 12 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 13 | | and loved him; and be it further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Fred Hohnke as an expression of our | 16 | | deepest sympathy.
