| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Anderson of Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on December 9, 2023; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was born in Burlington, Iowa to | 6 | | Robert C. and Evelyn A. Anderson on October 12, 1932; he | 7 | | graduated from Burlington High School and served in the U.S. | 8 | | Army; he received his bachelor's degree and a seminary degree | 9 | | from Augustana College; he received a degree from Union | 10 | | Seminary at Columbia University for Advanced Study and a | 11 | | doctorate in law at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas; he | 12 | | married Roberta M. Linse in Davenport, Iowa on September 14, | 13 | | 1957; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was a professor and administrator at | 15 | | Augustana College in Rock Island; he worked at Deere & Co. as | 16 | | manager of public policy and government relations and in the | 17 | | law department, specializing in political and legislative | 18 | | activities; he also worked as a legislative aid for U.S. | 19 | | Representative, Tom Railsback; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson served as a parish pastor at St. | 21 | | Andrews Lutheran Church in West Chicago and worked for the | 22 | | Lutheran Church of America in areas of social justice; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson enjoyed many things involving the | 2 | | water, including spending time with family and friends at Lake | 3 | | Geneva, Wisconsin; he also enjoyed his time as a volunteer | 4 | | fireman with the Moline 2nd Alarmers; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson was preceded in death by his son, | 6 | | Michael Anderson; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Bob Anderson is survived by his wife, Bobbie; his | 8 | | son, Jeff (Linda) Anderson; his granddaughters, Lauren and | 9 | | Lindsey Anderson; and his sister, Lucia (Richard) Moore; | 10 | | therefore, be it | 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 13 | | Robert L. "Bob" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to | 14 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 15 | | further | 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Bob Anderson as an expression of our | 18 | | deepest sympathy. |
