| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Chuck Scott on the | 4 | | occasion of his retirement after over 34 years of dedicated | 5 | | service to Illinois State University (ISU); and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Scott joined ISU in 1985 as director of | 7 | | grounds maintenance and recycling; he has held the positions of | 8 | | director of Campus Services,
executive director of Facilities | 9 | | Management, and executive director of Facilities Management, | 10 | | Parking,
and Transportation; he was appointed interim | 11 | | associate vice president for Facilities Management,
Planning | 12 | | and Operations in August 2017; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Scott was instrumental in the establishment | 14 | | of the ISU campus as an arboretum; today, Fell Arboretum | 15 | | stretches across over 400 acres of the campus and contains
| 16 | | approximately 2,000 trees and other plants, all native to | 17 | | Illinois; in 2008, ISU was recognized
as a Tree Campus USA by | 18 | | the Arbor Day Foundation and continues to hold the designation
| 19 | | today; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Scott has been involved with APPA, an | 21 | | international organization with a focus on educational | 22 | | facilities
management, since attending his first

| 1 | | 1991; within the next few years, he completed APPA's | 2 | | professional development and leadership programs and then | 3 | | became involved at the regional level; he served as regional | 4 | | president and then joined the APPA International Board of | 5 | | Directors; he was elected vice president for Professional
| 6 | | Development and then president in June 2016; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Very few people know every square inch of the ISU | 8 | | buildings and its grounds as well
as Chuck Scott; his vast | 9 | | institutional knowledge, informed decision-making, and | 10 | | commitment to promoting leadership and professional | 11 | | development are commendable; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 13 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 14 | | we congratulate Chuck Scott on his retirement after over 34 | 15 | | years of dedicated service to Illinois State University, and we | 16 | | wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it | 17 | | further
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copy of this resolution be | 19 | | presented to Chuck Scott as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
