| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth W. Oleson of Marengo, who passed | 4 | | away on October 28, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Oleson was born on April 19, 1934 in | 6 | | Woodstock to George and Mae (nee Butts) Oleson; he spent his | 7 | | early years in Hampshire, where he attended Bean School, and at | 8 | | age 12 he moved to Marengo; he graduated from Marengo High | 9 | | School in 1952 and married Betty L. Schmook on June 1, 1957 in | 10 | | Harvard; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Oleson was a lifelong grain farmer and | 12 | | former hog producer; he also worked for the Illinois Tollway | 13 | | for 29 years, retiring in 1991 as an assistant foreman of the | 14 | | M-6 garage; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Oleson was an active member of Zion | 16 | | Lutheran Church in Marengo, where he served as an usher, elder, | 17 | | and on the planning committee; he enjoyed attending church, | 18 | | spending time with his family, and antique tractors; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Oleson was preceded in death by his | 20 | | parents; his in-laws; his son-in-law, Dave Below; and his | 21 | | brothers-in-law, Jerry Bassuener and Bill Burnett; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Oleson is survived by his wife, Betty; his | 2 | | daughters, Cindy Oleson and Judy Below (Bill Shine); his | 3 | | sister, Carol Bassuener; his sister-in-law, Shirley Burnett; | 4 | | and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Kenneth W. Oleson, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Kenneth Oleson as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
