| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Clifford Wayne Findlay of East Moline, | 4 | | formerly of Moline, who passed away on December 13, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was born to Claude and Ella Mae | 6 | | (Laughlan) Findlay in Douds, Iowa on August 16, 1936; he | 7 | | graduated with the class of 1955 in Douds, Iowa; he served in | 8 | | the U.S. Army's 82nd Air Borne Division during the Korean War; | 9 | | he married Della Rich in Moline on November 20, 1960; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay worked as a foreman in the | 11 | | trucking industry, retiring after 45 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was a member of the Hope United | 13 | | Church of Christ for over 60 years and served as president of | 14 | | the church bowling team for 45 years and was part of the men's | 15 | | Breakfast Club; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was known for being able to fix | 17 | | anything; he loved fishing with his friends and enjoyed | 18 | | gardening and sharing the garden with others; he kept a | 19 | | meticulous yard at his home; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay was preceded in death by his |

| 1 | | three brothers, Ronnie, Hugh, and Earl, and his two sisters, | 2 | | Lorene and Irene; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Clifford Findlay is survived by his wife, Della; | 4 | | his daughter, Mari (David) Minor; his son, Mike (Anne) | 5 | | Findlay; his grandchildren, Ashley Minor, Eric Minor, Michael | 6 | | (Katie) Findlay, and Kelly (Reed) Hogan; and his | 7 | | great-granddaughter, Sophie Rae; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 10 | | Clifford Wayne Findlay and extend our sincere
condolences to | 11 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
