| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Jim Hansen, South Elgin Village | 4 | | President, who passed away on November 1, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen was born on July 29, 1960 in Elgin to | 6 | | James and Maxine (nee Murphy) Hansen; he married Teri Spencer | 7 | | in 1981; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen was first elected to the village board | 9 | | in 1991, and was elected Village President in 2001; he oversaw | 10 | | South Elgin's westward expansion while keeping the "hometown | 11 | | feel"; he was instrumental in the development of Concord Park | 12 | | and its baseball fields; he also worked as a manager at NAPA | 13 | | Auto Parts and in the purchasing department for Kane County; | 14 | | and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen always believed his biggest job was to | 16 | | be a consensus-builder; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen was preceded in death by his father, | 18 | | James; his father-in-law, Eugene Spencer; and his faithful | 19 | | companion, "Archie"; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen is survived by his wife, Teri; his |

| 1 | | sons, Dustin (Jennifer), Scott (Shannon), and Daniel (Hana | 2 | | Dillon) Hansen; his grandchildren, Aiden, Marcus, Addison, and | 3 | | Devin; his mother, Maxine Hansen; his brother, Don (Linda) | 4 | | Hansen; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Spencer; and many nieces and | 5 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Jim Hansen, South Elgin Village President, and extend our | 9 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 10 | | and loved him; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Jim Hansen as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
