| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Verne Richard Jamieson, formerly of East | 4 | | Moline, who passed away on September 16, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson was born in Moline to Wallace Verne | 6 | | and Emma (Peterson) Jamieson on May 27, 1920; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Rose Fuqua in 1942, | 8 | | and they later divorced; in 1980, he married Dorothea Spinhirne | 9 | | Taft; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson worked with his father and brother | 11 | | at Jamieson Garage in Moline until 1972; he then worked for | 12 | | John Deere; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson was a member of the American Legion | 14 | | and the VFW; he enjoyed walking and biking; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson was preceded in death by his wife, | 16 | | Dorothea; a grandson; his sister, Lorraine McLaughlin; and his | 17 | | brother, Robert Jamieson; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Verne Jamieson is survived by his children and | 19 | | their spouses, Stephen V. and Sharon Jamieson, Michael Timothy | 20 | | and Linda Jamieson, and Laurie and Craig Revel; nine |

| 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 5 | | Verne Richard Jamieson and extend our sincere condolences to | 6 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 7 | | further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of Verne Jamieson as an expression of | 10 | | our deepest sympathy.
