| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
John L. Grampovnik of North Chicago, who | 4 | | passed away on March 16, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Grampovnik was born on June 10, 1910, in | 6 | | North Chicago; his parents were Johan and Johanna (Scubic) | 7 | | Grampovnik; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, John Grampovnik only attended school until the 6th | 9 | | grade; his first job was caddying at the Bob'O'Link golf course | 10 | | in Highland Park; he then held several other jobs until he | 11 | | enlisted in the United States Navy; he served in the Navy for 4 | 12 | | years during World War II as a motor machinist mate in Panama; | 13 | | after the war, he worked at Houdialle Hershey (Oaks) and | 14 | | Midwest Foam before he ended his working career at Abbott | 15 | | Laboratories in 1975 at the age of 65; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, John Grampovnik was a member of Mother of God | 17 | | Church, the Saint Josephs, K.S.K.J. #53, and the Waukegan | 18 | | Knights of Columbus; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, John Grampovnik was an avid gardener till the age | 20 | | of 100; he also enjoyed fishing, playing balina, and watching | 21 | | the Chicago Cubs; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, John Grampovnik was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Francis (Debevic); his brothers, Peter, Joseph, and Edward; his | 3 | | sisters, Matilda Grampovnik and Jeanne Evans; and his | 4 | | daughter-in-law, Kathryn Grampovnik; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, John Grampovnik is survived by his sons, John III | 6 | | (Judy), Robert (Francine), and David; his daughter, Margaret | 7 | | (Gary) Green; his 10 grandchildren; and his 7 | 8 | | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | his family and friends, the passing of John L. Grampovnik; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of John Grampovnik as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
