| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Robert | 4 |
| "Bob" Lid, whose outstanding dedication to the Carpenters Union | 5 |
| as a Tradesman and Officer was an inspiration to all who knew | 6 |
| him; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Bob Lid passed away on August 28, 2007 at the age | 8 |
| of 74; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Bob Lid was a proud member of Carpenters Local 54 | 10 |
| for 45 years, where he served as its President for over 20 | 11 |
| years, as a Business Representative for 17 years, and as its | 12 |
| Treasurer for 13 years; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Bob Lid also served the Chicago and Northeast | 14 |
| Illinois District Council of Carpenters as its | 15 |
| Secretary/Treasurer for 4 years and as a Business | 16 |
| Representative for 14 years; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Bob Lid was anchored by his loving and caring | 18 |
| wife, Lila, and his three sons, Douglas, Robert, and Mark; and | 19 |
| WHEREAS, Bob Lid took pride in being a union carpenter, and | 20 |
| his union brotherhood is grateful because of the passion and |

| dedication he devoted to his "other family"; and | 2 |
| WHEREAS, The 47,000 carpenters of the Carpenters Union's | 3 |
| Regional Council owes his family a debt of gratitude for all | 4 |
| the hours and days he spent away from his home, attending to | 5 |
| the business of the union; therefore, be it
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 7 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 8 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of Robert | 9 |
| "Bob" Lid, who will be missed by many and has left his family | 10 |
| and his union with a proud legacy; and be it further
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, That we, along with the officers and membership | 12 |
| of the Chicago Regional Council, extend our heartfelt | 13 |
| condolences to Robert Lid's wife Lila and sons Doug, Bob, and | 14 |
| Mark; and be it further
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 |
| presented to the family of Robert "Bob" Lid as an expression of | 17 |
| our sympathy.
