| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald Eugene Brandon, who passed away | 4 | | on December 29, 2021; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Brandon was born to Donald Eldridge | 6 | | Brandon and Charlotte Yvette Brown Brandon in Springfield on | 7 | | March 6, 1962; he was baptized at Union Baptist Church as a | 8 | | child and served there as a Jr. Usher;
he attended Springfield | 9 | | Public Schools and graduated from Springfield Southeast High | 10 | | School where he was a standout point guard for the Southeast | 11 | | High School basketball team; he received an associate degree | 12 | | from Monmouth College; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Donald Brandon later began working as a security | 14 | | guard at Southeast High School; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Donald Brandon was a die-hard Southeast High | 16 | | School fan who could always be seen on the sidelines cheering | 17 | | on his beloved Southeast Spartans; he was affectionately | 18 | | called "Donnie B." or "Mr. Spartan" and took great pride in | 19 | | representing his Spartans against the crosstown rival Lanphier | 20 | | Lions; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Donald Brandon was preceded in death by his |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Donald Brandon is survived by his daughters, | 3 | | Donita Brandon and Donnesha Brandon; his son, Rovale D. Reese; | 4 | | his father and stepmother, Donald and Arlene Brandon; his nine | 5 | | grandchildren; his aunts, Gladys Richie, Betty J. White, and | 6 | | Velma Rucker; his uncle, Nathan (Colleen) Brown; his special | 7 | | cousin, Rosemary Nash; his stepsisters, Tina (Tony) Crawford, | 8 | | Debra (Lorenzo) Link, and Donna Ester; his stepbrothers, Roy | 9 | | Williams Jr. and Michael (Doris) Williams; his cousins; and | 10 | | his friends; therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
