| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Frances A. Larsen of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on June 17, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was born in Hanna, Indiana on April | 6 | | 18, 1926 to Calvin and Eva Thomas; she was later adopted by | 7 | | Merritt and Alice Metz; she married Otto Larsen on June 30, | 8 | | 1951; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was reported to be the first female | 10 | | meter reader in the state of Indiana; she was an Illinois Bell | 11 | | phone operator in Champaign-Urbana and customer service | 12 | | representative in McHenry until 1962; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was an avid gardener, cook, and the | 14 | | self-proclaimed "Mayor of Riverside Drive"; she served on the | 15 | | McHenry District 15 School Board for 13 years and was one of | 16 | | the founding members of McHenry's Pigtail League; when she and | 17 | | her husband first arrived in McHenry, they were active McHenry | 18 | | Little League contributors; she was a member of the McHenry | 19 | | County League of Women Voters, the Order of the Eastern Star, | 20 | | and the Historical Society; she also volunteered her time with | 21 | | P.A.D.S. and was an election judge official for many years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was preceded in death by her | 2 | | husband, Otto; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Frances Larsen is survived by her 3 adopted | 4 | | children, Hans (Janet), Fritz, and Greta (Joseph); her | 5 | | grandchildren, Emily and Otto Krueger; and her sisters, Mary | 6 | | Evers and Lucy Finch; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Frances A. Larsen, and extend our sincere condolences to her | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Frances Larsen as an expression of | 14 | | our deepest sympathy.
