| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Tara | 4 | | Latrice Brewer of Broadview, who passed away on January 17, | 5 | | 2018; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was born in Melrose Park to Lacy | 7 | | Brewer Jr. and Hattie Brewer on August 25, 1972; she graduated | 8 | | from Proviso East High School and then earned a bachelor's | 9 | | degree in business administration and a Master of Business | 10 | | Administration at Benedictine University; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer began working at an early age; her | 12 | | employment included jobs with American Household Bank, Harris | 13 | | Bank, Dress Barn, and Hines Hospital; in her most recent | 14 | | position, she worked as the Housing Program Manager for the | 15 | | Housing Authority of Cook County in Chicago; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer enjoyed participating in community | 17 | | events and representing Broadview as a Trustee; she was | 18 | | instrumental in the passing of the 2017-2018 Broadview Village | 19 | | budget; she regularly participated in Operation Santa, | 20 | | attended village parades and dinners, and worked diligently | 21 | | with the Box Top Program, where she collected labels for Lindop | 22 | | School District 92; she encouraged her friends and family to |

| 1 | | support charities by performing small acts that made a big | 2 | | impact; she also became an advocate for Ulrich Children's Home | 3 | | when she mentored a four-year-old-girl and later became a legal | 4 | | foster parent to that same girl's newborn child; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer, a Broadview resident for 45 years, | 6 | | was a tremendous asset to her community, and she will be sorely | 7 | | missed; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Tara Brewer is survived by her parents; and her | 9 | | son, Dereon T. Brewer-Adams; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 11 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 12 | | mourn the passing of Tara Latrice Brewer and extend our sincere | 13 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 14 | | her; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Tara Brewer as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
