| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard D. Hughes of Gurnee, who passed | 4 | | away on July 24, 2017; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hughes was born in Waukegan to Marshall | 6 | | and Dorothy (Hall) Hughes on October 24, 1935; he served in the | 7 | | United States Air Force and married Susan Piehl at St. George | 8 | | Catholic Church on November 19, 1960; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hughes was a member of the International | 10 | | Union of Operating Engineers Local 150; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hughes was passionate about flying; he was | 12 | | a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, an avid Green | 13 | | Bay Packers fan, and a dedicated family man, never missing a | 14 | | sporting event for his children and grandchildren; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hughes was preceded in death by his | 16 | | parents; his brother, Marshall Hughes; and his sister, Nancy | 17 | | Baker; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hughes is survived by his wife, Sue; his | 19 | | children, Kimberly (the late Ragan) Smith, Kelly (Michael) | 20 | | Mitrovic, and Robert (Alicia) Hughes; his grandchildren, |
