| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | 3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of former | 4 |
| State Representative Gerald A. Bradley of Bloomington on | 5 |
| Wednesday, December 28, 2005; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bradley was born October 15, 1927, in Chicago; | 7 |
| he married Mary Condon on December 29, 1951, in Bloomington; | 8 |
| she preceded him in death on February 17, 2000; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Thornton-Harvey High School | 10 |
| and Illinois Wesleyan University, where he lettered in | 11 |
| football, basketball, baseball, and track; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He valiantly served his country as a member of the | 13 |
| U.S. Army during the Korean War; he owned and operated | 14 |
| Bloomington Tent and Awning Co. from 1957 to 2002; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bradley was elected Democratic State | 16 |
| Representative in the 44th District of Illinois in 1969 and | 17 |
| served seven terms until 1982; he served as a majority whip in | 18 |
| Springfield for several years; and | 19 |
| WHEREAS, He was chairman of the board of First Federal | 20 |
| Savings and Loan, Bloomington, and served on the board of OSF | 21 |
| St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, and he was a member of | 22 |
| Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington; and
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Gerald A. Bradley has been deeply | 24 |
| felt by many, especially his daughters, Katie (Robert) Stotler | 25 |
| and Margaret Lehman; his sons, David (Carolyn) Bradley and | 26 |
| Michael Bradley; his six grandchildren; his two | 27 |
| great-grandchildren; and his sister, Barbara (Kent) Milton; | 28 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 2 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 3 |
| we mourn the passing of former State Representative Gerald A. | 4 |
| Bradley, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, | 5 |
| friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 7 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest | 8 |
| condolences.
