| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Russell H. Pitch, D.D.S. of Paxton, | 4 | | who passed away on January 9, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was born to Oliver and Georgina Olsen | 6 | | Pitch in Chicago on July 5, 1946; he graduated from Dundee | 7 | | Community High School in 1964 and North Central College in | 8 | | Naperville in 1969; he married Phyllis Wojcicki in Chicago on | 9 | | June 27, 1970; he graduated from Loyola Dental School in | 10 | | Maywood in 1976; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch decided to start his own practice in a | 12 | | small community after graduating from dental school; he opened | 13 | | the office of Russell H. Pitch, D.D.S. in Paxton in November | 14 | | 1976; he moved his office into a new building on Market Street | 15 | | in Paxton in June 1991; he retired in September 2016; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was a member of the Paxton Fire | 17 | | Department for 39 years, where he served as chief from 1995 to | 18 | | 2002; he was also a member of the Illinois Dental Association | 19 | | and the NRA; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was known as "Russ" or "Doc" to many; he | 21 | | enjoyed shooting, photography, driving his corvette, and |

| 1 | | reading books about military history; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch was preceded in death by his parents; | 3 | | his son, Christopher Russell Pitch; and his sisters, Karen | 4 | | Krumpen and Arlene Pitch; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Pitch is survived by his wife, Phyllis; his | 6 | | children, Penny (Mike) Murphy, Michael (Kurt Zeigler) Pitch, | 7 | | and Ginger (Zach) Flahaven; and his grandchildren, Sydney | 8 | | Murphy, Connor Murphy, Sloane Flahaven, and Hollis Flahaven; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Russell H. Pitch, D.D.S. and extend our sincere condolences to | 13 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Dr. Pitch as an expression of our | 17 | | deepest sympathy.
