| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Officer | 4 | | Raymond Murrell of
Addison, who passed away in the line of duty | 5 | | on January 19, 2017, at the age of 27; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Officer Murrell fulfilled his dream of becoming a | 7 | | police officer with the
Bloomingdale Police Department less | 8 | | than a year ago; during that short time he received
many | 9 | | accolades and compliments from residents, including | 10 | | recognition for saving a life; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Officer Murrell lived as a true public servant and | 12 | | dedicated himself
wholeheartedly to his calling as a | 13 | | peacekeeper and community builder; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Officer Murrell was known by many for his strong | 15 | | work ethic, love of serving
others, and joyful smile; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Officer Murrell was just as dedicated to his | 17 | | family as to his career, often spending
time fixing cars with | 18 | | his father or helping his sister raise her daughter, Mia, as if | 19 | | she were his
own child; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Officer Murrell served as a beacon of light to his |

of need; he was a compassionate | 2 | | public servant dedicated to fostering trust between law | 3 | | enforcement
and residents of the Bloomingdale community; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Officer Murrell was the beloved son of Mary L. | 5 | | Aguero and Anthony (Lori)
Murrell; the adored brother of | 6 | | Antoinette Williams; the loving uncle of Mia Williams; the dear | 7 | | grandson
of Marina Lopez and the late Alma and Walter Murrell; | 8 | | and the loved nephew of many aunts, uncles,
and cousins; | 9 | | therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 11 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, | 12 | | along with his family, friends, and brothers and sisters of the
| 13 | | Bloomingdale Police Department, mourn the passing of Raymond | 14 | | Murrell; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 16 | | presented to the family of Officer Murrell as an expression of | 17 | | our deepest sympathy.
