| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of William Robert "Bill" | 4 |
| Malone of Carterville on August 10, 2006; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, William Robert Malone was born on October 20, | 6 |
| 1940, in Harco, to William Grant and Roberta Maxine (Killman) | 7 |
| Malone; he married Lois Jean Stalorites on September 8, 1962; | 8 |
| they renewed their vows in Bora Bora in 1998; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Malone was CEO of Malone's Early Learning | 10 |
| Centers in Carterville; he was a member of First Baptist Church | 11 |
| in Carterville, which he represented on three mission trips to | 12 |
| Kazakhstan; as an advocate for children and families, he served | 13 |
| as district coordinator for Action for Children, and as state | 14 |
| delegate to Illinois Association for the Education of Young | 15 |
| Children; he was also a member of Voices for Illinois Children, | 16 |
| Southern Illinois Association for the Education of Young | 17 |
| Children, Southern Illinois Early Childhood Action Team, and | 18 |
| Partners in Professionalism; he served on the Meth and Suicide | 19 |
| Coalitions; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Malone attended Southern Illinois University; | 21 |
| he received a Master Professional Award from Childcare Resource | 22 |
| and Referral for the last 5 years; in 2005, he was presented | 23 |
| the Heart of the Affiliate Award for his dedication to children | 24 |
| from Southern Illinois Association for the Education of Young | 25 |
| Children; he was also presented the Sharing and Caring Award | 26 |
| from the Illinois Department of Human Services and the | 27 |
| Department of Children and Family Services in 2005; and
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Malone's most lasting memorial will be in the | 29 |
| hearts of the people all over the world that he touched and in | 30 |
| the difference that he made in their lives, especially with his | 31 |
| family; recently, his grandson Jacob, played "for his grandpa" |

| in the Fairfield Country Club Golf Tournament and won first | 2 |
| place; the trophy was given to his coach and mentor-his papa, | 3 |
| because "he was the one who really won it."; and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of William Robert "Bill" Malone is | 5 |
| deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his | 6 |
| loving wife, Lois Jean Malone; his loving children, daughters | 7 |
| and sons-in-law, Belinda Jo and Jeff "Bear" Dupuy, Donna Jo and | 8 |
| Lee Eklund and his son and daughter-in-law, William Eugene and | 9 |
| April Malone; his grandchildren, Sara Bree Bloodworth, Steven | 10 |
| Joseph Elliott, Dillon Scott Eklund, Jonathon Bradley Dupuy, | 11 |
| Jacob Eklund, Brennan Scott, Alexandra Grace, and Miranda Kay | 12 |
| Malone; his great grandson, Koby Braxton Childers; his brother, | 13 |
| Jerry Malone; his nephew, James Joseph Biederman; his nieces | 14 |
| and their families, Debra and Sid Horn and their children Tim | 15 |
| and Ryan, Lisa Malone and son Gavin; his beloved friend, Sheila | 16 |
| Jolly; his beloved cats, Rebel and Midnight; all his loyal | 17 |
| friends and the extended family of the children he has cared | 18 |
| for over the last 30 years who came to call him their own; he
| 19 |
| was preceded in death by his parents, William Grant and Roberta | 20 |
| Maxine Malone, his mother and father-in-law, Joseph Paul and | 21 |
| Sara Ellen Stalorites, and his sister-in-law and | 22 |
| brother-in-law, Mary and Dick Biederman; therefore, be it
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 25 |
| William Robert "Bill" Malone, and we extend our sincere | 26 |
| condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 27 |
| him; and be it further
| 28 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 29 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest | 30 |
| sympathy.
