| 21 | | WHEREAS, There are ongoing concerns about whether the | 22 | | automated multiple choice exams conducted by the Department of | 23 | | Central Management Services, knowingly or unknowingly, could | 24 | | be biased against minority populations; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 2 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the | 3 | | Auditor General is directed in accordance with Section 3-2 of | 4 | | the Illinois State Auditing Act to conduct a performance audit | 5 | | of the Department of Central Management Services to review and | 6 | | assess the Department's automated multiple choice exams for the | 7 | | above-listed positions; and be it further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That the audit include a review of whether those | 9 | | automated multiple choice exams are biased against minority | 10 | | exam takers, either in their content or in their results; and | 11 | | be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That the Auditor General compile a detailed | 13 | | report that includes a full summary of the results of that | 14 | | review; and be it further
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That the Department of Central Management | 16 | | Services cooperate fully and promptly with the Auditor General | 17 | | in the conduct of this audit; and be it further
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence this audit as | 19 | | soon as possible and submit his report, including his findings | 20 | | and recommendations, upon completion in accordance with the | 21 | | provisions of Section 3-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act, |

| 3 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be delivered to | 4 | | the Auditor General and the Department of Central Management | 5 | | Services.
