| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Judith Ann "Judy" Woulfe of Godfrey, who | 4 | | passed away on December 29, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Judith Woulfe was born on November 6, 1937 in | 6 | | Alton to Jack and Virginia (nee Eckhart) Tonsor; she attended | 7 | | St. Mary's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Marquette | 8 | | Catholic High School in Alton in 1955; she married Paul L. | 9 | | Woulfe on November 7, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in | 10 | | Alton; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Judith Woulfe received her elementary education | 12 | | certification from Washington University in St. Louis and | 13 | | taught 2nd grade at Saints Peter and Paul School in Alton; she | 14 | | then accepted a position at Owens Illinois Glass Company; she | 15 | | later worked in the Alton Township Assessors office, served as | 16 | | the Chief Examiner for the City of Alton's Civil Service | 17 | | Commission, and as the Executive Assistant to the Alton Fire | 18 | | Department; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Judith Woulfe enjoyed summer road trips to the | 20 | | Great Smokey Mountains, Table Rock Lake, White Sands, Estes | 21 | | Park, and Florida beaches; she also liked to host holiday | 22 | | parties, family gatherings, being a Girl Scouts leader, |

| 1 | | dancing, embroidery, needlepoint, quilting, sewing, and | 2 | | reading; she was a life-long learner and returned to college in | 3 | | 1982 to finish her degree; she was well known for her baking | 4 | | skills, often treating her family and friends to Red Velvet | 5 | | Cake, 10-pound cheese cake, carrot cake, and tapioca pudding; | 6 | | she was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where | 7 | | she served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and in other | 8 | | roles; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Judith Woulfe is survived by her husband, Paul; | 10 | | her children, Matthew Paul, Virginia Jo (David Beile), Mark | 11 | | David (Teresa), and Andrew Jude (Melissa); her grandchildren, | 12 | | Christopher Woulfe (Casey Solterman) and Laura Woulfe, Holly | 13 | | (Ryan) Fairless, Kaylin and Phillip Beile, Jennifer and Richard | 14 | | Woulfe, and Keegan and Tessa Woulfe; her sister, Jackie (Ralph) | 15 | | Gissal; her brother, John (Fran) Tonsor; her sister-in-law, | 16 | | Patricia Runtz; her brother-in-law, Harold Woulfe; her special | 17 | | cousin, Marsha Yarnell; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, | 18 | | be it
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 21 | | Judith Ann "Judy" Woulfe, and extend our sincere condolences to | 22 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 23 | | further
