| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of Helen Francis Nerstrom of Zion, who | 4 |
| passed away on March 11, 2010; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born January 29, 1921 in North Chicago, | 6 |
| and grew up and celebrated her life in North Chicago and Zion | 7 |
| with her husband of 65 years, Stanley Nerstrom; she graduated | 8 |
| with a teaching degree from Northern Illinois University and | 9 |
| taught in the North Chicago School District until her | 10 |
| retirement in 1983; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She taught first grade and special needs reading | 12 |
| at South, Forrestal, Yeager, and Greenbay Schools; she enjoyed | 13 |
| arts and crafts, including painting, quilting, ceramics, and | 14 |
| puzzles; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in passing by her parents, Helen | 16 |
| and Anton Macek; her sister, Mary Harris; her brothers, Joseph | 17 |
| and Edward Macek; and most recently by her husband, Stanley | 18 |
| Nerstrom; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Helen Nerstrom is survived by her daughter and | 20 |
| son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Blackowicz; her son and | 21 |
| daughter-in-law, James and Norma Nerstrom; her four |

| grandchildren, Jayson (Barb) Blackowicz, Jeremy (Lisa) | 2 |
| Blackowicz, Brett (Rebecca) Nerstrom, and Jamie (Jacob) | 3 |
| Zipprich; and her five great-grandchildren, Ethan Blackowicz, | 4 |
| Ella Blackowicz, Andon Blackowicz, Alixandra Zipprich, and | 5 |
| Trevor Zipprich; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 7 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 8 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Helen Nerstrom; and be | 9 |
| it further
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 |
| presented to the family of Helen Nerstrom as a symbol of our | 12 |
| sincere sympathy.
