| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION | 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Nancy June Scaife Beatty of | 4 | | Springfield, who passed away on March 7, 2024; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty was born in Springfield to William | 6 | | A. and Florence Bessie Maurer on December 19, 1928; she | 7 | | graduated from Springfield High School and attended Brown's | 8 | | Business College; she married Donald Lee Beatty; and | 9 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty worked at the Federated Funeral | 10 | | Directors in Springfield; she retired in 1992 from the | 11 | | Illinois State Senate as a legislative secretary after more | 12 | | than 20 years of service; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty Nancy was a member of West Side | 14 | | Christian Church and the Red Hat Society; she enjoyed | 15 | | traveling and arts and crafts; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty was preceded in death by her | 17 | | husband, Donald, and her son, Thomas Scaife; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Beatty is survived by her children, Rick | 19 | | (Cathy) Scaife and Steven (Sue) Scaife; her stepchildren, | 20 | | Dianne (Ed) Leach, Bonnie (Dave) Willis, Brian (Deb) Beatty, |

| 1 | | and Susan (Mark) Hurley; her grandchildren, Todd (Angela) | 2 | | Scaife, Andrea (Jason) Jordan, Chad Scaife, Ashley (Chris) | 3 | | Calhoun, Courtney (Danny) McGee, Jessica (Scott) Scaife, and | 4 | | Joshua (Cheyenne) Scaife; her 16 step-grandchildren; her 57 | 5 | | great-grandchildren; her brother, William C. Maurer; and | 6 | | several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it | 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Nancy June Scaife Beatty and extend our sincere condolences to | 10 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 11 | | further | 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Nancy Beatty as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy. |
