| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | 3 | | to learn of the death of Richard A. Wells of Moline, who passed | 4 | | away on February 27, 2022; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Wells was born to Arthur and Lola | 6 | | (Reagan) Wells in Moline on May 30, 1928; he served as a | 7 | | sergeant in the U.S. Marines from 1950 to 1952; he married | 8 | | Joyce D. DeCausmaker at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rock | 9 | | Island on May 9, 1953, and she preceded him in death on | 10 | | December 10, 2014; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Richard Wells worked as a letter carrier with the | 12 | | U.S. Postal Service for over 37 years; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Wells enjoyed fishing with his buddies, | 14 | | Big Jim, Barry, and Mike, and his son-in-law, David; he also | 15 | | enjoyed golfing; he cherished spending time with his family; | 16 | | he flew an American flag at his house every morning and kept | 17 | | his yard in immaculate shape; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Wells was preceded in death by his wife | 19 | | of 61 years, Joyce; his parents; and his sister, Shirley | 20 | | Peterson; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Richard Wells is survived by his children, Pam | 2 | | (David) Ross and K. Arthur Wells; his grandchildren, Michael | 3 | | (Kayla) Ross, Kyle (fiancé Leah) Ross, Ingrid (fiancé Matt) | 4 | | Wells, and Dr. Markus Wells; and his great-grandchild, Ilka | 5 | | Marie Ross; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| 8 | | Richard A. Wells and extend our sincere
condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| 12 | | presented to the family of Richard Wells as an expression of
