| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Kurt | 4 | | Robert Heilemann of Portland, Oregon, formerly of Glenview, who | 5 | | passed away on July 21, 2020; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Kurt Heilemann was born to Gary Heilemann and | 7 | | Rosemary Heilemann in 1978; he graduated from Glenbrook South | 8 | | High School in Glenview, where he was captain of the wrestling | 9 | | team, senior class president, and prom king; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Kurt Heilemann was a fixture in the food and wine | 11 | | scene in Portland, Oregon for 20 years; most recently, he was | 12 | | the co-owner of Davenport in Portland, where his wine program | 13 | | was a James Beard Award semifinalist in 2019; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Kurt Heilemann was known for having no | 15 | | acquaintances, only friends; he maintained many friendships in | 16 | | Glenview; he was a devoted Cubs fan, even flying back to attend | 17 | | games with his Illinois friends from time to time; when not | 18 | | entertaining or helping friends, he was happiest spending time | 19 | | on a lake in a forest with a fishing rod in hand; he will be | 20 | | remembered for his "gruff teddy bear" persona, his generosity, | 21 | | and his genuine nature; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Kurt Heilemann was preceded in death by his | 2 | | father, Gary Heilemann, and his grandparents; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Kurt Heilemann is survived by his mother, Rosemary | 4 | | Heilemann; his sister, Anne (Ted) Remington; and his numerous | 5 | | uncles, aunts, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 7 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 8 | | we mourn the passing of Kurt Robert Heilemann and extend our | 9 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | 10 | | and loved him; and be it further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Kurt Heilemann as an expression of | 13 | | our deepest sympathy.
