| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Leo F. Williams of Coal Valley, who | 4 | | passed away on December 22, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams was born in Sextonville, Wisconsin to | 6 | | Ray and Grace (Fry) Williams on March 4, 1931; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Navy for four years and married Edith Beard in Buena | 8 | | Vista, Virginia on May 21, 1953; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams worked at the Federal Aviation | 10 | | Administration for over nine years before going to work at the | 11 | | International Harvester Farmall Plant in Rock Island, where he | 12 | | worked for over 17 years as an induction heat treat engineer; | 13 | | he ended his career after over seven years at the Rock Island | 14 | | Arsenal as an electronic technician; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams was a member of Boy Scout Troop #118, | 16 | | the Rock Island County Civil Defense, and the Civil Air Patrol; | 17 | | he was also an amateur radio operator for much of his life and | 18 | | obtained his pilot's license in 1959; he enjoyed | 19 | | radio-controlled model boats and spending time with his family; | 20 | | and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams was preceded in death by his wife, |

| 1 | | Edith; infant brother; and his grandson, Matthew Williams; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Leo Williams is survived by his children, Fred | 3 | | (Aletha) Williams, Patricia (Ronald) Jones, Harry (Tomah) | 4 | | Williams, Linda (Darryl) Rochford, and Robert (Shelley) | 5 | | Williams; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his | 6 | | sister, Louise Noble; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Leo F. Williams and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Leo Williams as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
