| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Don Dunavan of Danville, who passed away | 4 | | on February 7, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Dunavan was born on November 22, 1946 in | 6 | | Danville to Ralph and Ellen (nee Story) Dunavan; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Don Dunavan worked at the Hyster Company as a tool | 8 | | and die maker for over 30 years; he was part of the Union | 9 | | Executive Committee for 18 years, serving as President for 5 | 10 | | years; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Don Dunavan was the Democrat County Chairman from | 12 | | 2002 to 2010 and served as Vice-President of the Presidential | 13 | | Committee during President Obama's 2008 presidential race; and | 14 | | WHEREAS, Don Dunavan was the late-model track champion at | 15 | | the Vermilion County Speedway; he was a 42-year member of the | 16 | | Masonic Lodge and of the Scottish Rite since 1976; he was a fan | 17 | | of the Chicago Bears and the Illini and was a member of "the | 18 | | chain gang" at Bismarck High School for 38 years, never missing | 19 | | a game; he was an avid Sprint Car fan and enjoyed spending | 20 | | winters in Eustis, Florida for Speed Week and Bike Week; he | 21 | | also enjoyed riding his Harley, going to motorcycle events, and |

| 1 | | attending H.O.G. rallies; he liked to travel to flea markets in | 2 | | Florida and help people with mowing and plowing snow; he was a | 3 | | member of Crossroads Christian Church and enjoyed skiing, golf, | 4 | | deer hunting, country line dancing, and rodeos; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Dunavan was preceded in death by his parents | 6 | | and by his wife, Sondra; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Don Dunavan is survived by his brother, Dan (Katy) | 8 | | Dunavan; his sister, Mary Jo (Marvin) McDonald; his daughters, | 9 | | Desire (Chad) Wear and Tamara (Chris) Gudauskas; his | 10 | | grandchildren, Marshall and Donavan Gudauskas; and his special | 11 | | friend, Joellyn Krauel; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Don Dunavan, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | 15 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
