| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Samantha Hasselbring of | 4 | | Cissna Park on being crowned the 2018 Miss Illinois County Fair | 5 | | Queen; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, During a two-day competition at the 59th annual | 7 | | Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant at the Crowne Plaza in | 8 | | Springfield, Samantha Hasselbring represented Iroquois County,
| 9 | | competing against 70 contestants across the State to become the | 10 | | very first queen from
Iroquois County; she was previously named | 11 | | the 2017 Iroquois County Fair Queen at the
Iroquois County | 12 | | Fair; and | 13 | | WHEREAS, Samantha Hasselbring will be employed by the | 14 | | Illinois Department of Agriculture and will be travelling
over | 15 | | 10,000 miles to over 30 county fairs, ending the experience as | 16 | | the official hostess of the
Illinois State Fair and the Du | 17 | | Quoin State Fair this summer; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Samantha Hasselbring is especially looking | 19 | | forward to meeting new people over
the summer and is extremely | 20 | | happy to attend all 10 days of the Illinois State fair; she | 21 | | could not be happier for the opportunity and experiences to | 22 | | come; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Samantha Hasselbring is proud of her heritage and | 2 | | looks forward to promoting
agriculture in Illinois, stating | 3 | | "The feeling is indescribable", and "You never think it's going | 4 | | to
happen ... It's a dream come true"; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Samantha Hasselbring is a 2016 graduate of Cissna | 6 | | Park High School and is currently
majoring in elementary | 7 | | education at Parkland College in Champaign; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Samantha Hasselbring and her two brothers, Dane | 9 | | and Cole, and her twin sister, Taylor, grew up on
a farm where | 10 | | her father, Troy, raises cattle and her mother, Lynn, is a | 11 | | teacher; and | 12 | | WHEREAS, Growing up on a farm that has been run by her | 13 | | family for generations has helped
shaped who Samantha | 14 | | Hasselbring is today, allowing her to participate in 4-H and | 15 | | FFA and giving her the
experiences and passion necessary to | 16 | | promote the importance of agriculture not only to rural
| 17 | | communities, but to all communities across the State; | 18 | | therefore, be it
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 20 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 21 | | congratulate Samantha Hasselbring on being crowned the 2018 |

| 1 | | Miss Illinois County Fair Queen; and be it further | 2 | | RESOLVED, That we applaud and commend
Samantha Hasselbring | 3 | | on her wonderful accomplishments during the Iroquois County
and | 4 | | Illinois County Fair Queen competitions, showcasing her | 5 | | excitement for her district and her
agricultural heritage; and | 6 | | be it further | 7 | | RESOLVED, That we truly appreciate Samantha Hasselbring's
| 8 | | leadership and we wish her the best in all her future | 9 | | endeavors; and be it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to Samantha Hasselbring as a symbol of our respect | 12 | | and esteem.
