| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Virginia Z. Kucera of Arlington Heights, | 4 | | who passed away on February 28, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born October 3, 1938, in Chicago, to | 6 | | William S. Sr. and Helen (nee Gawrylak) Zittnan; she attended | 7 | | Providence High School in Chicago, graduated from Loyola | 8 | | University in 1960 with a B.S. in sociology/psychology, and | 9 | | Roosevelt University with a M.A. in gerontology in 1990; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, She was the director of the Division of Chapter | 11 | | Services for the American Academy of Pediatrics in Elk Grove | 12 | | Village from 1985 to 1996, and an associate executive director | 13 | | for the Clearbrook Center for the Handicapped in Rolling | 14 | | Meadows from 1977 to 1984; she served as an Arlington Heights | 15 | | Village trustee from 1997 until 2009, and as a trustee of the | 16 | | Arlington Heights Memorial Library from 1977 to 1983; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Virginia Kucera is survived by her husband of 50 | 18 | | years, Robert C. Kucera Sr., whom she married April 8, 1961; | 19 | | her children, Anne Marie Sablock, Robert C. Jr. (Jolanta) | 20 | | Kucera, and Matthew P. (Kristine) Kucera; her grandchildren, | 21 | | Julia and Nicholas Sablock, and Mark, Helena, Nicole, and | 22 | | Amanda Kucera; and her siblings, William Jr. (Maryann) Zittnan, |
