| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Percell Searcy, III.; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Percell Searcy, III was born in Chicago on August | 5 | | 4, 1988 to Gladys and Percell Searcy, Jr.; he was a member of | 6 | | the New Faith Baptist Church, joining in 2005; he graduated | 7 | | from Rich Central High School in 2006, attended Cheney | 8 | | University of Pennsylvania, and earned his associates degree in | 9 | | Biology from Prairie State Community College in 2009; he | 10 | | continued taking science courses at Governors State | 11 | | University; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Percell Searcy, III was gifted in science, math, | 13 | | art, writing, and music; he was known for his originality, | 14 | | creativity, verbal ability, and artistic talent, as well as for | 15 | | his passionate world views which were the subject of many of | 16 | | his songs and self-produced CDs; he was always concerned about | 17 | | oppressive societal conditions and the plight of those deemed | 18 | | "outside the mainstream"; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Percell Searcy, III enjoyed team sports, becoming | 20 | | a Taekwondo Black Belt, chess matches, and video games; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Percell Searcy, III is survived by his parents; |

| 1 | | his sister, Stephanie (Reuben); his brothers, McKinley Gray | 2 | | (Dorothy) and Anthony Hatcher; his uncles, Franklin Searcy | 3 | | (Marvin), Leonard Muhammed (Donna), and Earnest Searcy | 4 | | (Melba); his aunts, Ramona Christian, Jackie Currie (Robert), | 5 | | Iniece Brooks, Lydia, and Shamieka Searcy; and many cousins, in | 6 | | addition to Tamela, Gregory, Ilene, Naomi, Ketura, Adrian, | 7 | | Maria, Leonard Jr., Aisha, and Amira; therefore, be it
