| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Roscoe Haymon, Sr. of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on August 26, 2015; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. was born in Blytheville, | 6 | | Arkansas on December 28, 1921 to Albert and Lillian (nee White) | 7 | | Haymon; he served in the United States Air Corps during World | 8 | | War II and married Earnestine Howard on May 8, 1949 in | 9 | | Robertson, Missouri; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. retired from American Air | 11 | | Filter in Moline, where he was a painter and forklift operator; | 12 | | during retirement, he worked as a bus driver for Project NOW; | 13 | | and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. was an active member of the | 15 | | church, serving as deacon and singing in the choir; he was a | 16 | | fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed spending time with | 17 | | his family; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. was preceded in death by his | 19 | | wife, Earnestine; his sister, Ruth Johnson; and his brothers, | 20 | | Cleophus, Edward, Lucious, and John Tyler "J.T." Johnson and | 21 | | Andrew and Wallee Haymon; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. is survived by his 6 children, | 2 | | Geraldine McDonald, Roscoe Haymon, Jr., Marvin Haymon, Brenda | 3 | | Bragg-Harris and her husband, Chuck, Maurice Haymon, and Renaud | 4 | | Haymon; his 12 grandchildren; his 15 great-grandchildren; and | 5 | | many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Roscoe Haymon, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
