| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dr. John M. "Jack" Abell of Aurora, who | 4 | | passed away on October 27, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. John Abell was born on September 29, 1921, in | 6 | | Aurora to Mary Ann and William Abell and lived in Aurora all of | 7 | | his life; he graduated from Marmion Military Academy, | 8 | | Benedictine University, and the University of Illinois Medical | 9 | | School; he married Patricia Brennan; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dr. John Abell was a member of the Lay Association | 11 | | of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Holy Angels Church, Serra | 12 | | Club of Aurora, and the Kane County Medical Society; he was an | 13 | | honorary staff member of Provena Mercy Medical Center and | 14 | | Rush-Copley Medical Center; he interned at the U.S. Naval | 15 | | Hospital in San Diego, California and was in the Navy Reserve | 16 | | until 1982; he joined Dreyer Medical Clinic in 1950 and retired | 17 | | in 1986; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. John Abell was preceded in death by his | 19 | | grandson, Kevin Bryant; his parents, Mary Ann and William | 20 | | Abell; his sisters, May Dickes and Patricia Abell; and his | 21 | | brother, William Abell; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dr. John Abell is survived by his wife, Patricia | 2 | | (Brennan) Abell; his children, Michael (Janice) Abell, Martha | 3 | | (Richard) Rode, Theresa (John) Bryan, and Timothy Abell; and | 4 | | his grandchildren, Timothy and Michaela Rode, Cameron Abell, | 5 | | Jeffrey and Nathan Abell, and Patrick, Michael, David, and Mary | 6 | | Kate Bryant; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Dr. John Abell, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
