| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club was incorporated | 3 | | as a non-profit organization in 1968 and became a member of | 4 | | Boys Clubs of America in October of that year; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, The mission of the Club is "to enable all young | 6 | | people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full | 7 | | potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens"; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Club has affected the lives of thousands of | 9 | | youth at its original location at 201 East Park Street in | 10 | | Champaign and over the years, at various locations throughout | 11 | | Champaign County; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Club has partnered with a variety of local | 13 | | organizations, including schools, park districts, local | 14 | | governments, and other youth development agencies to address | 15 | | the needs of youth and families in our community; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, The Club continues to maintain a committed group | 17 | | of board members, staff, volunteers, and donors to provide the | 18 | | leadership, day-to-day operations, resources, and support | 19 | | necessary to carry out its mission and work; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, The Club celebrates 50 years of being a safe place |

| 1 | | for members to learn, grow, and have fun; the Club is dedicated | 2 | | to opening doors to greater futures for all youth in the | 3 | | community, especially those with the greatest need; therefore, | 4 | | be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 6 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 7 | | congratulate the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club on the occasion of | 8 | | its 50th anniversary; and be it further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the Don Moyer Boys & Girls Club as an expression | 11 | | of our esteem and respect.
