HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark "Flipper" Hannon of Clinton, who passed away on April 16, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He was born June 24, 1952 in Monticello, the son of Paul M. and Carolyn J. (Ford) Hannon; and

WHEREAS, He joined Laborers Local #703 in September of 1976 at the age of 24; he worked as an All-Craft Steward for twenty years at the Clinton Nuclear Power Plant in Clinton; he was the Business Manager of the Laborers' International Union of North America, Local #703, an Executive Board Member of the Southern & Central Illinois Laborers' District Council, and a Trustee of the Central Laborers' Welfare Fund, Central Laborers' Pension Fund, Illinois Laborers' & Contractors Joint Apprenticeship & Training Program and the Laborers' local #703 Legal Service Fund; and

WHEREAS, He was also a member of the Sons of the Legion in Farmer City and was a Past President of the Eagles Aerie Lodge #593 in Clinton; and

WHEREAS, Mark Hannon is survived by his son, John Hannon (Patty Hines); his daughter, Jodi Hannon (Jesse Schmid); his parents, Paul and Carolyn Hannon; his brothers, Timothy F. Hannon and Matthew J. Hannon; his sisters, Jane E. Hannon and Freyda Staten; and his granddaughter, Ava Hannon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Mark Hannon; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Hannon as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
